Michigan Chapter

The Michigan Chapter of DBIA was established in 2010.  Educational events are held periodically.  During 2011 these included a Spring Forum in Lansing on April 8, a joint event with the National Council on Public Private Partnerships on May 11, also in Lansing, and a Fall Forum in Southfield held September 15.  Click the links for reports on those events.

The 2012 Spring Forum for DBIA Michigan is tentatively scheduled for the morning of Friday, April 20, in Lansing.  The preliminary agenda will include a presentation by Chapter Officer Lori Swanson, from the Michigan Department of Transportation, who managed the design-build reconstruction of the M-59 and Crooks Road interchange.

The Chapter Executive Committee comprises a President, a President-Elect, an Immediate Past President, and four Vice Presidents.  These seven Officers plus ten other Members at Large make up the Chapter Board of Directors.  Five committees address the subjects of Programs, Owner Relations, Membership, Public-Private Partnerships, and Legislation.  Board meetings are held most months; the next one is February 15 at 4 pm in Farmington Hills.  Interested persons are invited and encouraged to come.  Contact any Officer or other Board Member if you wish to attend or otherwise have interest in the Chapter.

Vision

DBIA Michigan Chapter will be Michigan’s preeminent resource for leadership, education, objective expertise and best practices for the successful integrated delivery of capital projects.

Mission

DBIA promotes the value of design-build project delivery and teaches the effective integration of design and construction services to ensure success for owners and design and construction practitioners.
