DAN RAWLINS WINS TAP LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

On February 1, the TAP (Trade Association Professionals) Eighth Annual Event took place at Indiana Landmarks Center. Mayor of Fishers, Scott Fadness, had the honor to present this year’s TAP Lifetime Achievement Award to Daniel Rawlins. Each year, the associations of TAP have the opportunity to nominate one candidate that has served an active and extensive role in a TAP-affiliated association as well as the A/E/C industry throughout the longevity of their career. An application with four categories has to be completed along with submitting three letters of recommendations. The TAP Judging Committee then reviews the applications and take it to a vote. Previous TAP award winners include Don Altemeyer, Darrell Gossett, Mark Shambaugh, Rick Ford, Karen Courtney, and Jim Schellinger.

Dan Rawlins began his professional career in Architecture by receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He has been a key advocate for design-build delivery nationally, has conducted multiple national presentations on design-build delivery, has influenced clients in their delivery method decision-making process, and has served as Design Criteria Developer for numerous K-12 clients throughout the state of Indiana. In addition to dedicating his time in supporting DBIA initiatives as a DBIA Designated Professional and DBIA National Certified Instructor, he also served as a DBIA National Thought Leader for Tools & Resources from 2013 to 2015. He is currently an officer of the Great Lakes Region of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) and serves DBIA nationally as a certification training instructor. In addition to DBIA, his other professional associations include being an active Business Associate member of The Indiana State School Board Association (ISBA) and the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO). Our congratulations go out to Dan Rawlins for winning this prestigious award!
